Password Generator

You need a password that's hard to guess. I create five random ones on your device, using your browser's secure random generator.

Everything runs in your browser. I never see what you type.

How to use it

Pick a length, press Generate, and copy one. I never see these passwords. Choose Random, Memorable or PIN, then set the length and whether to include numbers and symbols. Memorable passwords are easier to type but weaker than random ones.

How I build the results

Your browser's secure random number generator, the one used for encryption keys, picks every character. I leave out look-alikes such as 0 and O or 1 and l, and I guarantee a mix of lower case, upper case and digits.

What makes a password strong?

A strong password is hard for people and programs to guess. Length adds more strength than clever substitutions, and a random mix beats a pattern you invented. Memorable passwords built from words are easier to type but weaker than random ones, so use a password manager for important accounts.

How I would use it

I'd save the one you pick in a password manager and use a different one for every account.

What I can't tell you

I never see or store these. They disappear when you leave, so copy one before you go.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to make a password on a web page?

I make these on your device and never send them anywhere. For your most important accounts I'd still use your password manager's built-in generator.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. I designed every tool to work on small screens, with large tap targets and results that wrap instead of scrolling sideways.

What should I know before using this?

I never see or store these. They disappear when you leave, so copy one before you go.
